Living in Oswego - The village of Oswego, part of Kendall County, is a relatively small town that has seen tremendous growth since 2010. Oswego is most famous as a hub for drag racing in the mid 20th century. It still incorporates its unique history into modern day by hosting the annual Drag Strip Days to commemorate its drag racing background! The community gets together regularly for a number of different events including Wine on the Fox- a celebration of wine along the Fox River, and the Oswego Country Market- a chance to explore many different local vendors from May- October. The community celebrates many holidays and other special events together as well. The downtown area where many of these festivals are located has recently enhanced its original historic ambiance by restoring old brick roads, incorporating benches along brightly lit sidewalks and drastically improving landscaping! It is filled with locally owned shops and restaurants, which further give the downtown district a home-y feel! One of Oswego’s greatest features is the Hudson Crossing Park. The park is located along Fox River, and is a peaceful nature park to enjoy river views and winding paths through gorgeous trees! Oswego’s public schools are part of the highly rated District 308.
